Bayhealth offering free mammograms in May

A local hospital group is offering free mammograms throughout the month of May. The Bayhealth Cancer Institute will give free screening mammograms at four convenient locations for those who are uninsured and underinsured, over the course of the month. Appointments and pre-registration are required.

Officials say regular mammograms can significantly reduce a woman’s risk of developing breast cancer, and Bayhealth recommends annual mammograms for women 40 years and older.
