3 taken to the hospital after truck hits tree

New Castle County paramedics say three people were taken to the hospital after a pickup truck struck a tree in Middletown.

Paramedics say it happened Friday around 10: 30 p.m. in the 800 block of Churchtown Road. Paramedics say a 27-year-old with a head injury was taken to the hospital in critical condition. A 21-year-old man was taken to the hospital in stable condition, and a third patient was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.

Paramedics did not say what caused the pickup to leave the roadway.
