18-year-old arrested for alleged murder suicide plot in Easton

An Easton teen is behind bars, after he reportedly planned and tried to execute a murder suicide plot.
Easton Police say on Thursday around 5:55 PM, Officers responded to a home on Brenton Drive, for reports of a burglary in progress. Once on scene, Police say they found the back sliding glass door of the home broken.
As Officers moved into the home, they reportedly found 18-year-old James Dickerson with a black revolver in his hand. Police say Officers then ordered Dickerson to drop the gun, but he instead pointed it at his own head. After several commands, Police say Dickerson dropped the gun, and was taken into custody.
During the investigation, it was apparently learned that Dickerson had previously been in a relationship with one of the residents of the house, but they had since broken up.
Investigators say as the Officers were enroute to the home, Dickerson shot through a locked bathroom door, where the female victim was found. Police say the female had not been hit by the shot.
Police say their interview with Dickerson revealed that he had been planning to kill the female, and then kill himself.
After his arrest, Dickerson was charged with attempted 1st and 2nd degree murder, assault 1st and 2nd degree, burglary 1st, 3rd, and 4th degree and home invasion, reckless endangerment, handgun on person, firearm use in a violent crime, theft less $1,000, possession of firearm by minor, and regulated firearm stolen.
Dickerson is currently being held without bond.
