10 pounds of marijuana, $40K cash found in Princess Anne apartment

An investigation into an attempted murder, reportedly led to the discovery of a large amount of drugs and more than $40,000 in cash.
Princess Anne Police say during an investigation into a May 5 shooting and attempted murder, that happened in the Princess Anne Townhouses, on Pine Knoll Drive, they got a warrant for a 19-year-old Salisbury man. According to the report, while the Maryland State Police Apprehension Team and Gang Enforcement Unit was attempted to serve that warrant, new evidence, sparked a new investigation.
That new investigation reportedly led to new warrant being issued for 24-year-old Jamell Stanley, of Princess Anne, after the Salisbury man and Stanley had been seen around Stanley’s Somerset Avenue apartment Somerset Avenue , and in his vehicle. On May 20, Officials say they executed a search and seizure warrant on Stanley’s apartment, and found a handgun, a shotgun, about 10 pounds of marijuana, and $40,258.96 in cash.
Stanley was arrested, and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance-marijuana, possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, possession of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia, handgun in vehicle, possession of an unregistered rifle/shotgun, and use of firearm in a felony crime.
He is currently being held at the Somerset County Detention Center on a $200,000 bond.
Police note that the Salisbury man was taken into custody by the MSP Apprehension Team. Details on his arrest were not immediately available.
Princess Anne Police say they can’t comment on the on-going investigation into the attempted murder, only that the two men are related to the investigation.
