Virginia man sentenced to 30 years for Hebron beating, burning

A Virginia man will spend the next 30 years behind bars for brutally beating and burning a Hebron man last year.
Cary Lee Edwards, of Williamsburg, was sentenced to life today with all but 30 years suspended.
He pleaded guilty to attempted first-degree murder back in February.
Both Edwards and Paul Hurst were arrested back in August on the charges for the beating of Zachary Swanson.
According to state prosecutors, all three men are affiliated with the juggalos, a cult following of the Insane Clown Posse. They say Edwards’ told detectives that Swanson was being disrespectful and after an argument, they nearly beat Swanson to death, and attempted to carve a cult tattoo out of his arm. Edwards reportedly told police when that did not work, Hurst attempted to burn it off.
Prosecutors say Swanson lived, but had to have his arm amputated.
Hurst’s sentencing is scheduled for Friday.
