UPDATE: Marydel woman sentenced after embezzling over $1 million from employer

A Marydel woman who pleaded guilty to embezzlement charges back in October, has been sentenced.
On Monday, 45-year-old Janice McCumbie was sentenced to 37 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release. The sentence stems from McCumbie pleading guilty back in October 2014, to conspiring to commit wire fraud in connection with a scheme to steal over $1.2 million from the consulting company that she worked for. McCumbie was also ordered to pay restitution of $1,249,267.53, the loss from her conduct.
From June 2008 until November 2013, McCumbie had the consulting company that she worked for issue more than 65 false client refund checks, to three co-conspirators, including her niece, totaling more than $1.2 million.
