UPDATE: Extradition hearing for Clay rescheduled

68-year-old James Leon Clay of Georgetown

An extradition hearing for a man accused in an 1967 Arkansas murder, has been rescheduled.

The Delaware Department of Justice tells 47 ABC that an extradition hearing for James Clay has been scheduled for April 14th at 10:00 AM. Clay’s hearing was initially scheduled for Friday, but was then moved to Thursday, but a mis-communication with the public defender left Clay in court by himself.

The Judge ordered him to be extradited back to Arkansas but, because the Public Defender was not present, it’s all null and void. The new hearing will be at the Justice of the Peace Court 3 in Sussex County.

Sixty seven-year-old Clay is wanted in Jackson County, Arkansas for what police say was the kidnapping and murder of James Ricks back in 1967.
