Thunder and lightning postpone lax thriller in Cambridge

A perhaps thrilling finish to the girls lacrosse matchup between the Cambridge South Dorchester Vikings and the Bennett Clippers, will have to wait, as the game was postponed due to weather Friday night.

Cambridge jumped out to an early lead, before Bennett’s Gabby Hoisington got the Clippers on the board. At the half, Cambridge led 5-4 at the half, with three of Bennett’s goals coming from midfielder Allie O’Leary.

Cambridge would rattle off three more goals in the first four minutes of the second half to Bennett’s one, before thunder was heard by the referees, prompting them to clear the field for a 30-minute weather delay. About 20 minutes into the delay, lightning was spotted in the south endzone and referrees met and called the game. Day and time to finish the contest have yet to be determined.
