Sussex Co. fire under investigation

A fire in Georgetown is now under investigation.

According to the Delaware State Fire Marshal’s office a blaze on Fleetwood Pond Road was reported around12:50 PM. Fire crews from Georgetown, Blades, Seaford, Laurel, Ellendale, Bridgeville, and Millsboro fought the fire. Officials say crews arrived to heavy fire in the garage that spread to the house.

Investigators say the fire began in the garage, in the area of a riding lawn mower. The blaze has been ruled accidental.

Fire officials say there were no injuries and damages have been estimated at $150,000.
