Stephen Decatur Boys Lacrosse Shuts Out North Caroline

Despite several cancellations, the North Caroline boys lacrosse team hosted the Stephen Decatur Seahawks on Friday night. The Seahawks took command early in the game and would not let up.

Within the first couple of minutes, Decatur’s Shane Moore went down with a collision, but was able to walk off the field. The Seahawks were ready to rally behind their teammate — scoring five goals in the first half alone and allowing no goals. Decatur would match the first half with another five goals in the second half as well. North Caroline’s goalie, Shane Scharf held his own – making some incredible saves for the Bulldogs, but it wouldn’t be enough to stop the Seahawks.

Decatur had four players with 2 goals each — Corey Gwin (2 G), Jackson Mumford (2 G, 2 A), Evan Helm (2 G, 2 A), and Trey Wells (2 G) — Steve Alther and Colton Lohnas added one goal a piece as well. Meanwhile, the Seahawks managed to keep the Bulldogs out of the net and Decatur boys lacrosse notch its first shutout of the season as they go on to win, 10-0 the final.
