Somerset Co. Public Schools employee suspended amid parental complaints

A Somerset County Public Schools employee has apparently been suspended, during an investigation stemming from parental allegations.
Officials say parent complaints about an employee within the school system, have let to the suspension of the individual, with pay, pending the outcome of the investigation. After the allegations were brought to light on Wednesday, a meeting was arraigned between the the employee and their supervisor informing the individual of the allegations and of the actions that would be taken by the school system, including the suspension.
SCPS says the Maryland State Police and the Somerset County Department of Social Services are now investigating the allegations. The position of the employee, or the nature of the allegations have not been released at this time.
Superintendent Dr. John B. Gaddis stated, “Upon the completion of the investigation law-enforcement will make a decision as to the need for establishment of criminal charges. The school system will continue to evaluate the situation and make a decision as to the need for any further disciplinary measures once the investigation is complete.”
