Salisbury Zoo celebrates Earth Day
Nearly three thousand stopped by the Salisbury Zoo Saturday for the annual Earth Day Celebration.
The event featured several earth friendly exhibitors, including Delmarva Power. Representatives tell 47 ABC their booth was designed to increase awareness of local and international conservation and environmental concerns, and give people the tools to take action.
Delmarva Power even had a demonstration showing how much energy incandescent light bulbs use.
They say using a compact fluorescent light bulb will save you roughly $42 over the life of the bulb.
Ardeen Rhock-Taylor with Delmarva Power says, “It helps our customers to conserve and to learn the different things we can do to not put stuff into the environment, and into the atmosphere.”
