Ravens’ Strong Third Quarter Downs Rams

The Sussex Tech High School boy’s lacrosse team played host to Parkside on Monday afternoon and used a five-goal third quarter to put away a 14-6 decision. The Ravens improve to 4-3 for the season, while the Rams fall to 1-7.

Tech jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in this one before Parkside got on the board. The second quarter though saw the Rams fighting back, cutting the deficit to 5-3 at the half.

But the Ravens were too much in the second half, scoring nine times in the final 24 minutes led by a huge game by Jason Whalley, who finished with six goals and two assists for eight points.

Whalley was joined by teammate Matthew Tull with three goals and an assist, while the Rams were paced by Jakob Keidel with two finishes and a helper.

Tech now heads up Route 13 for a battle against Dover on Wednesday at 7 p.m., while Parkside stays on the road with a game against Queen Annes on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
