Parsonsburg man sentenced to 16 years on child pornography charges

A Parsonsburg man will spend the next decade and a half in prison, after pleading guilty to child pornography charges.

On Wednesday, 28-year-old Edward Maycock, Jr., was sentenced to 16 years in prison, followed by a lifetime of supervised release for distribution of child pornography. Once released, Maycock will also have to register as a sex offender.

According to his plea agreement, in November of 2013, Maycock uploaded child pornography to a website, and that IP address was linked back to Maycock’s home by investigators.

In February 2014, Police searched that home, and found a laptop and several external hard drives which had thousands of files depicting children, including prepubescent minors, in sexually explicit conduct, totaling 1,000 gigabytes. Authorities say some of the files included images of sadistic and masochistic conduct, or other depictions involving violence.

Maycock actively traded child pornography with others over the internet.
