North Caroline softball too much for Queen Anne’s

Mackenzie Short crossed home plate three times for her team, as the North Caroline softball team took down Queen Anne’s 11-1 in five innings.

Lil Torchino, Queen Anne’s first batter, scored the only run for the Lions in the top of the first inning, off an RBI single by Kasey Graef. Queen Anne’s led 1-0 after one inning. From there, it would be all Bulldogs as North Caroline got one run back in the second inning, and exploded for four in the third inning.

Holding a 5-1 lead going into the bottom of the fourth, Bulldogs came to bat and scored six more runs, pushing their lead to 11-1 and prompting umpires to call the 10-run-rule into play.

For North Caroline, Brea Bishop, Clara Thornton, and Brittany Brown each scored two runs a piece, with Megan Robbins one run.
