Leitgeb’s Senior Night One To Remember

The Stephen Decatur girls lacrosse team picked up the win over Bennett 19-4 on their senior night to improve to 11-0. For the Seahawks 6 seniors, it was their final time taking their home field together for the regular season, but the game was made even special as it was the season debut for one senior, Jenna Leitgeb.
Jenna suffered a torn ACL during the middle of the soccer season, and has been enduring the rehab process ever sense. For a class and a school as close as Stephen Decatur is, not having her on the field hurt the team in more ways than just her production. Jenna continued to battle though, and rehabbed herself to the point where she would practice with the team, condition and was nearly close enough to return to the field. But she wasn’t there yet.
That didn’t stop her head coach Bob Mustitano from giving her the opportunity to create a memory she’ll never forget. Coach Mustitano approached Jenna’s parents John and Cindy about letting her have the start on senior night, and taking the field for the first few minutes with her team The emotions of being reunited with her team, especially her other 5 seniors graduating, coupled with the celebration of senior night with her parents at half time, was more special than she could have ever imagines. In true Decatur fashion, the team genuinely looked to be more happy that she was back with them, than in celebrating their own accomplishments that night.
Jenna has committed to play next year at Gettysburg.
