Jamba smoothie kits recalled due to possible Listeria contamination

A local grocery store is warning shoppers about a product that has been pulled off the shelves and removed from sale, because they may be contaminated with listeria monocytogenes. Giant Food says it has taken down select Jamba at Home Smoothie kits, by Inventure Foods, Inc., because of the possible contamination.
The following products are included in this recall:
· Jamba Mango A Go Go Smoothie, 8 oz., UPC 88403885099; with a best before date of 18 Mar 2016 and a lot code of 72644AH01 or a best before date of 17 Oct 2016 and a lot code of 71075AH01
· Jamba Orange Dream Machine Smoothie, 8 oz., UPC 88403885168; with a best before date of 18 Mar 2016 and a lot code of 72644AH01 or a best before date of 17 Oct 2016 and a lot code of 71075AH01
· Jamba Caribbean Passion Smoothie, 8 oz., UPC 88403885169; with a best before date of 18 Mar 2016 and a lot code of 72644AH01 or a best before date of 17 Oct 2016 and a lot code of 71075AH01
· Jamba Green Fusion Smoothie, 8 oz., UPC 88403885102; with a best before date of 18 Mar 2016 and a lot code of 72644AH01 or a best before date of 17 Oct 2016 and a lot code of 71075AH01
· Jamba Strawberries Wild Smoothie, 8 oz., UPC 88403885098; with a best before date of 18 Mar 2016 and a lot code of 72644AH01 or a best before date of 17 Oct 2016 and a lot code of 71075AH01
There have reportedly been no illnesses to date. Listeria monocytogenes is an organism, that presents with high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, and can cause miscarriages in pregnant women. Symptoms can be serious, and sometimes fatal, in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.
Those who have purchased the product should throw away any unused portions, and bring their original receipt back to Giant for a full refund.
