Easton PD looking for witnesses after fatal crash on Route 50

Police in Easton say a Delmar man is dead after a vehicle he was riding in, was hit from behind.
Easton Police say on Wednesday, just after 11:00 PM, Officers responded to a two vehicle accident on Route 50 at W. Kennedy Street in Easton. According to the report, a green 2004 Kia Sedona was driving slowly eastbound in the right lane of Route 50, with its hazard lights on due to mechanical issues, when a black 2000 Honda Accord hit it from the back. Police say the are still looking into why the Honda Accord struck the Kia Sedona.
The driver and front passenger of the Kia were rushed to Easton Memorial Hospital where they were later released with minor injuries. The backseat passenger of the Kia, 73-year-old Charles Henry, was taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma, where he subsequently died from his injuries. The driver of the Honda, 32-year-old Janell Bennett, was taken to Easton Memorial Hospital, where she was treated for her injuries, and released.
Easton Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit says they are working on reconstructing the scene, with details to be released later. Route 50 at W. Kennedy Street was closed to traffic for around three and a half hours, while the scene was investigated, it has since been cleared.
