DSU Wins Over UMES In Extra Innings
University of Maryland Eastern Shore played host to the Delaware State Hornets on Sunday afternoon in a flip-flop battle.
DSU would take an early, 4-0 lead, but that would change after a 4 run inning for the Hawks in the bottom of the third inning. The Hawks would later take a 5-4 – again, the lead would soon be swept over to the Hornets taking a 6-5 lead in the fifth inning. DSU would follow the two-run fifth inning adding an extra four runs in the top of the sixth to extend their lead to 10-6 with the Hawks adding a run in the bottom of the sixth inning as well.
UMES looked to rally in the bottom of the ninth inning, scoring two runs, however, it would not be enough as DSU holds on for the win, 12-10 the final.
