DSP investigating fatal motorcycle crash

Delaware State Police one man is dead after a motorcycle crash outside Dover. Police say Eric Stubbs, 26, of Milton, was operating a 2009 Suzuki motorcycle when he apparently crashed into the front end of a Jeep.

Police say Stubbs was apparently traveling at a high rate of speed headed southbound on South State Street near Camden. Troopers are reporting that Stubbs collided with a 2006 Jeep Rubicon operate by Trey Small, 37, of Dover, who had turned onto South State Street from North Old Mill Road.

Police say Stubbs was ejected from the motorcycle upon impact, which burst into flames after the collision. The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet during the time of the crash, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

State Police Public Information Officer Sgt. Richard Bratz says the incident occurred around 7:17 PM Sunday, on South Street in the area of North Old Mill Road just east of Camden.

Reports say Small, and a female passenger, 28 of Wilmington, were not injured.

State Police say some parts of South State Street were closed for investigation four hours following the crash, but have since reopened.
