Deuter Finds Leadership Role With Pocomoke Warriors

Frank Deuter grew up playing baseball, the game that he loved. Entering his freshman year at Pocomoke High School, he would try out and make the team. For the next two seasons, he would play for the Warriors, but his career didn’t have the prefect ending.
His time would be riddled with injuries. That was because Deuter suffers from a bone disorder, that makes his bones brittle. Entering his junior season, Deuter approached the coaches about taking up a position as a manger. Under this role, he helped the team by keeping stats, soft tossing during practice and keeping pitch count during games. The role filled the void of wanting to be around competition, til one practice on April 1st. While working in a player, Deuter took a line drive off the jaw, sending him to PRMC for four days.
During the begging part of his rehab, he would have to take his food from liquids only. The team felt the loss of not having him around, and were set on giving him something to feel good about. The Warriors won their next game against their rivals Crisfield, their first win of the season. Upon being released from the hospital, he rejoined the team, and provided an emotional lift. Dueter has enough courage to continue working with the team, despite the accident., and that determination has been felt by the rest of his team.
