Confirmed shooting at Delaware State University

A shooting has been confirmed at Delaware State University’s Campus that sent three people to the hospital.

University officials say the shooting broke out around 8 p.m. during an annual University student cook-out event.

According to a university spokesman, the three victims who were injured in the shooting were all sent to Kent General Hospital in Dover and are reported to be in stable condition.  The victims’ identifies have not been released.

As of 11 p.m. on the night of the shooting, no arrests have been made and students have been advised to stay inside their residence halls, according to officials. 

DSU campus police are leading the investigation, with assistance from The Dover Police Department and the Delaware State Police.
