Colonels Cruise Past Saints; Claim Bayside North

The Colonel Richardson High School baseball team traveled to Saint Michaels Wednesday afternoon with a perfect record on the line and a chance to seal up the Bayside North. Jumping out to a quick 9-0 lead, the Colonels coasted to a 12-3 victory to remain undefeated with a 13-0 record and claimed the Bayside North. The Saints slip to 8-4 for the season.
The bats were hot early and often for Colonel Richardson, grabbing a 6-0 lead through the first two innings, highlighted by a solo home run by Jaret Bennett. The junior had a great game on the offensive end, going 4-for-4 with a home run, two doubles, three RBIs, and two runs scored. He missed the cycle by a triple.
On the defensive end, the Colonels were captained by senior pitcher Caleb Johnson, who pitched a complete seven-inning game for 13 strikeouts.
Colonel Richardson will look to keep its unblemished record alive on Thursday at North Dorchester, while the Saints look to rebound on Friday at Kent County. Both games are set to start at 4 p.m.
