Coast Guard rescue off Tilghman Island

Officials from the U.S. Coast Guard in Baltimore report they medevaced a 58-year-old man from a sailboat near Tilghman Island Monday.
Authorities at the Baltimore Sector say they received a report from the Savannah Grace sailboat at approximately 6:30 p.m., that the man on board was apparently suffering from stroke-like symptoms.
Members from Coast Guard Station Oxford were dispatched to conduct a medevac in an effort to reach the man.
Reports say once the man was aboard the rescue boat, a Tilghman Island Fire Department boat crew arrived on scene, boarded the vessel, and assisted in the medical emergency.
The Coast Guard reports the boater and paramedic were transported to awaiting EMS personnel at Tilghman on the Chesapeake.
