Car crashes into Annandale bakery, injuring 6 people

Fairfax County police say six people are injured after a car crashed into a bakery storefront in Annandale.

Police say the car ran over a curb Sunday afternoon and crashed into the Napoleon Bakery on Tom Davis Drive about 2 p.m. Six people, including the driver of the Lexus, suffered apparent non-life-threatening injuries.

Police spokeswoman Officer Shelley Broderick says five of those injured were inside the bakery at the time. It was not clear whether they were workers or customers. Police photographs show the car drove all the way into the bakery store.

Police say charges are pending in the case. The bakery is now closed until authorities determine the structural integrity of the building.
