Cambridge Softball Completes Comeback vs. Easton

The Cambridge South Dorchester softball team fought back from a 2 run deficit late to defeat rival Easton 3-2. The win improves the Vikings to 11-2, while the loss drops the Warriors to 11-2.

The teams would be locked in a classic pitchers duel early. Paige Bleyer would finish with 14 strike outs for the Vikings, including 3 in the first innings alone. But Joy Kolakowski was just as good for the Warriors, as the Vikings had trouble catching up to her stuff all day. The Warriors would work the bases loaded with 1 out for their first real opportunity to score in the 4th before Bleyer would get out of the inning with back to back strike outs. Eventually the Warriors would get to Bleyer, scoring a couple runs to take a 2-0 lead into the bottom of the 6th off a Alecia Hall RBI. But the Vikings would fight their way back from there, scoring 3 runs in the bottom of the frame. They would close it out in the top of the 7th for the win.

Cambridge returns to action Monday when they host North Caroline, while Easton return to the field Monday when they travel to Kent County.
