Burglar reportedly used doggie door to break into Deal Island home

State Police say they have arrested a man who broke into a Deal Island home, through a doggie door.

The Maryland State Police Princess Anne Barrack, along with Criminal Enforcement Division, says the home was broken into on Saturday night, and had $200 removed from a bank pouch in the master bedroom.

Police say the home was equipped with a video security system, which they were able to use to identify the suspect as Holland Lewis. On the video, Lewis can reportedly be seen trying to get into the home through two other doors, before going through the pet door.

On Monday, Trooper arrested Lewis for the burglary, and after advising him of his Miranda Right, Police say he confessed to breaking into the home.

Lewis was then charged with 1st degree burglary, and theft under $1,000. He is now behind bars at the Somerset County Detention Center on a $25,000 bond.
