Blue Bell recalls all ice cream products due to possible Listeria contamination

A heads up for ice cream lovers. One company has pulled all of their products from the shelves, after an apparent positive listeria test.

Giant Food says that Blue Bell Ice Cream has recalled all Blue Bell ice cream products because of the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

The following products are included in this recall:
· Blue Bell Gold Rim Ice Cream, 16 oz., UPC 7189905101; All flavors & All Lot Codes
· Blue Bell Ice Cream, 64 oz., UPC 7189983548; All flavors, varieties & lot codes
· Blue Bell Ice Cream, 64 oz., UPC 7189943555; All flavors, varieties & lot codes
· Blue Bell Ice Cream, 64 oz., UPC 7189903720; All flavors, varieties & lot codes

Listeria monocytogenes is an organism, that presents with high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, and can cause miscarriages in pregnant women. Symptoms can be serious, and sometimes fatal, in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.

Those who have purchased the product should throw away any unused portions, and bring their original receipt back to Giant for a full refund.
