Big 6th Lifts Easton Baseball Past Cambridge

The Easton baseball team picked up a nice road win Saturday when they traveled to Cambridge South Dorchester and defeated their rivals 8-2. The win improves the Warriors to 8-5, while the loss drops the Vikings to 8-6.

The Warriors would grab a 1-0 lead early, and it looked like that may be enough with the way Jack Wheatley who was dealing. His combination of locating in his fastball and mixing in his curve kept batters uncomfortable all day. But eventually the bats would catch up to him. Nathaniel Lowe would draw a walk, and then come home after Michael Richardson would hit a blooper to right. The Warriors would then come right back in the top of the next frame. The bases would be loaded with two outs for Dylan Waters, who would hit a blooper to right. Miscommunication in the outfield would allow the ball to fall in, resulting in three more runs for Easton. Wheatley would close it out from there for the win.

Easton returns to action Monday when they travel to Kent County, while Cambridge returns to the field Monday when they host North Caroline.
