1 hurt, 12 families displaced after Burtonsville fire

Montgomery County fire officials say one person was hurt and 12 families were displaced after an apartment fire in Burtonsville.

County fire department spokesman Pete Piringer says the fire broke out in a third floor apartment on Blackburn Lane around 12:30 a.m. Saturday.

Piringer says smoking materials on a mattress were the likely cause of the blaze. He says damage is estimated at $450,000.
