Worcester Prep Girls Lacrosse Takes Over Late vs. Parkside

The Worcester Prep girls lacrosse traveled to Parkside Friday night and came away with a big 11-7 win. The win improves the Mallards to 3-0, while the loss drops the Rams to 1-2.

The teams would be exchanging goals early on with the Mallards taking a 5-4 lead late in the first half. It looked like their lead may hold til halftime, but the Rams fought back with Emily Davis finding the back of the net with under a minute to go to tie the match at 5-5 at the break. Worcester Prep would then go on a run to open the second half. A goal from Leigh Lingo and another from Karlie Southcomb would push the Mallards lead to 9-6 with under 5 minutes to play. The Rams would then find back. Both Blaire Langeler and Alivia Roskovich would score to get their team back within one. But another goal for the Mallards by Sophie Brehnan would ice it.

Parkside returns to action Monday when they host Cambridge South Dorchester, while Worcester Prep returns to action Saturday for the Karl Wolf Tournament.
