Washington Downs Cambridge To Advance

Washington’s boys basketball advance to the regional semifinals Tuesday night when they defeated Cambridge South Dorchester 85-53. The Jaguars will now travel to play at Pocomoke.
Washington took command of the game early on, quickly jumping out to a 29-10 lead thanks to the play of their seniors. Shakur Cottman would score early and often as he would finish with a game high 20 points. By halftime the lead grew to 39-20. The Jaguars would continue to push in the second half and half the game well in hand by the start of the fourth quarter. The Vikings continued to battle led by their freshman point guard Na’ail Thompson who finished with 11 points while Glenn Cropper added a team high 15. Marc Jones would finish with 13 points, while Deshawn Parks added 11 and Jermir Jones added 6.
