UPDATE: Suspect caught after reported robbery at BB&T in Berlin

Law enforcement in Worcester County have reportedly caught the suspect involved with a bank robbery in Berlin on Friday.

Authorities say they were able to locate the suspect, 52-year-old Jeff Hare, after a receiving a tip from a concerned citizen around 6:30 Friday. Afterwards, members of Worcester County Bureau of Investigations (WCBI) and Worcester Criminal Enforcement Team (CET), Maryland State Police, FBI and the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office went to two houses in Ocean Pines attempting to locate Hare.

Once he was found, police say Hare was questioned about his whereabouts earlier in the day and based on his interview a search warrant was issued. In addition, an eye witness reportedly identified Hare to be near the bank prior to the robbery.  

Hare has been charged with Armed Robbery, Robbery, Felony Theft, Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony, First Degree Assault, Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Reckless Endangerment, and MDOP over $500.00.
