UPDATE: Hurlock farmer sentenced to life for 2009 murder

A Dorchester County farmer will spend the rest of his life behind bars, after being convicted of murder.

The State’s Attorney for Dorchester County says on February 6th, 67-year-old William Hamilton was convicted by a jury of his peers of first and second degree murder, and first degree assault.

The charges stem from an August 27th, 2009 shooting death of 31-year-old Craig Parker. Hamilton stated that he shot and killed Parker, an employee of his 80 acre farm, and buried him on the property.

Parker’s body was never recovered, even after extensive excavation by Maryland State Police. On Thursday, Hamilton was sentenced to life imprisonment.
