UPDATE: House passes proposed Md. budget

The Maryland House of Delegates has passed the state’s $40.4 billion budget in a 129-10 vote on Thursday night.
All six members on the Lower Eastern Shore House Delegation apparently voted to approve this bill, according to District 38-B delegate Carl Anderton, Jr. who says the latest proposed budget does not include new or increased taxes.
The House has reportedly made room to restore educational funding that was not as high as Democractic lawmakers had been hoping for.
It has also proposed to restore a two percent cost-of-living adjustment for state employees.
We’re told parts of the House budget plan includes changing the state’s pension funding system. In addition, it has also cut about 100 vacant jobs.
The measures will now head to the Senate.
