UPDATE: House fire in Eden ruled accidental

A Friday afternoon house fire in Eden, has been ruled as accidental. The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office says it all started around 4:30 PM, in the master bedroom of the Eden Allen Road home.

After the occupant discovered the flames, 15 firefighters from Princess Anne, Allen, and Fruitland all responded, and had the single alarm blaze under control in a half hour. Investigators say they have ruled the cause as accidental, after the flames were found to have been caused by electricity. Damages are estimated to total $150,000.

Officials say the home was equipped with smoke alarms, but they weren’t working at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported.
