UPDATE: Another fire breaks out at De Lazy Lizard in OC

Ocean City Fire Department says there was another fire at De Lazy Lizard Bar & Grill in Ocean City, on Wednesday morning.

An Ocean City Fire Department official tells 47ABC that crews responded to reports of smoke coming from De Lazy Lizard Bar & Grill just before 5:00 AM. A passerby reportedly called in the blaze, stating they could see smoke and fire on the second floor of the three and a half story building. Officials confirmed the flames came from the same Philadelphia Avenue building that caught fire back in February.

Town of Ocean City Officials say once on scene firefighters found and extinguished the small fire. Damages were reportedly contained to a small area in a second floor bedroom. Crews started leaving the scene at about 6:30 AM. Southbound Philadelphia Avenue had been closed to traffic, while crews worked, but it was later reopened.

The building is still being repaired after a February 10th fire that ripped through the buildings. A cause of that fire was never found, but Officials told 47 ABC that electrical malfunction could not be ruled out as a contributing factor.

The space was unoccupied, and the business closed at the time of Wednesday’s blaze. No injuries were reported. The cause of this fire is still under investigation by the Ocean City Fire Marshal’s Office. Anyone with information about the situation is asked to contact the Fire Marshal’s Office at 410-289-8780.
