UMES edges out road win at Del State

The UMES’ men’s team avenged a Valentine’s Day loss, coming out with a win at rival Delaware State 69-65, in front of a packed crowd at Memorial Hall in Dover, DE.

Mike Myers scored a team-high 20 points for the Hawks, while guard Devin Martin scored 13 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Iman Johnson was the only other Hawk in double figures, scoring 11 points. Amere May Jr. scored a game-high 26 points for Del State in the loss, while Tyshawn Bell scored 17 points. Guard Kendal Williams also scored in double figures for the Hornets, netting 15 points.

The loss drops Delaware State to 13-16, and drops them back to .500 at 7-7 in the MEAC. They will host Howard this Monday, while UMES (17-13, 10-5) hosts Morgan State this Thursday.
