Sussex Tech Coasts To Victory over Seaford

The Sussex Tech High School girl’s soccer team hosted Seaford on a rain-filled afternoon Friday, but that didn’t stop it from scoring early and often, taking a 9-0 decision. The Ravens move to 2-1 for the season, while the Blue Jays start the season 0-1.

The scoring started early for Tech, finding the back of the net in the fourth minute by Wuendy Cruz before Michelle Laz added another just a minute later. Carrying the momentum, the Ravens kept increasing the advantage with three more finishes, including another by Laz, to take a 5-0 lead at the half.

The second half saw no difference, as Tech tacked on four more, even a goal by defender  Annie Purdue.

Laz led all scorers with a hat trick and an assist, while Sheyla Artiga found the back of the net twice and added a helper.

Seaford travels home for a contest on Monday against Indian River with a 6 p.m., start, while the Ravens hit the road to Caesar Rodney on Tuesday for a 7 p.m., start.
