Sussex Co. inmate facing additional burglary charges

A Bridgeville man, who is behind bars, is now facing additional charges.

Harrington Police say in January 2015, they responded two different times to attempted burglaries in the Midway Shopping Center. During that investigation, Detectives say they found that the Delaware State Police was investigating similar burglaries in their jurisdiction.

A joint investigation apparently ensued, during which 31-year-old Joshua Hillard was found as a suspect. Harrington PD then created warrants for Hillard, charging him with both Midway attempted burglaries. At this time, Hillard was already behind bars at the Sussex Correctional Institute, for other burglaries in DSP’s jurisdiction.

He was additionally charged with two counts of attempted burglary 3rd degree, two counts of criminal mischief under $1,500, and one count of possession of burglar tools. He remains incarcerated at the SCI.
