Supplier of Eastern Shore drug trafficker sentenced to 12 years

A Baltimore man will spend the next 12 years behind bars, for his involvement in heroin distribution on the Eastern Shore.

On Friday, 37-year-old Gary Kess,  of Reisterstown, was sentenced to 12 years in prison, followed by five years of supervised release, for conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute heroin.

According to Kess’ plea agreement, in June 2014 Kess supplied heroin to an Eastern Shore drug trafficker. An investigation led law enforcement to watch a transaction take place in Kess’ mini-van, and see text messages arranging other transactions for 150 grams of heroin.

Police pulled Kess over in Severna Park, Maryland after one of the transactions, and found over 150 grams of heroin, and more than $6,000 in bank envelopes in the vehicle.
