SU Softball Sweeps Double Header Over Wesley

The No. 3 Salisbury University softball team swept their double header over Wesley Wednesday afternoon, 8-2 and 7-0. The pair of wins improves the Sea Gulls to 14-1, while the losses drop the Wolverines to 16-3.
The Wolverines would jump out in front in game one after Morgan Seymour would hit into a RBI single in the 3rd. The Gulls would come right back in the bottom of that frame after Molly Simpson turned on one and sent it over the left field fence for a three run shot. Then in the 4th, SU would stretch their lead to 5-1 after Katie Sebbane would rope one deep to left for a two run shot. The lead would prove to be more than enough for Rachel Johnson, who pitched a complete game, while giving up 3 hits and striking out 12.
In the night cap, the Gulls would be the ones to strike first, after after getting one in the bottom of the first. Their lead would grow to 5-0 after 4 runs came in in the 3rd, highlighted by an RBI triple from Sebbane. Annah Brittingham would do the rest on the bump, throwing a complete game, 2 hitting while fanning 8.
SU returns to action Saturday for a double header at York, while the Wolverines play Saturday when they hit the road to take on Penn-State Harrisburg.
