SU Men’s Lacrosse Falls In OT To Stevenson

The Salisbury men’s lacrosse team dropped a heart breaker Wednesday night when they fell to Stevenson University 9-8 in overtime. The loss drops the Gulls to 6-4 on the year.
The Gulls would find themselves in a battle early on. Salisbury University would score the games first game just a minute and a half into the contest, but the Mustangs would come right back. The Carson Kalama would do all he could for the Gulls in the first half, recording 4 goals but the teams would still be knotted 5-5 at the break.
Salisbury would take the lead in the 3rd quarter after James Burton was able to find the back of the net. Stevenson would then score three straight goals, highlights by Thomas Cirillo would score with a 1:10 left, and then Nathan Blondino would tie the game up with :13 second. Salisbury would have a chance to win it in overtime as the Mustangs would be short handed early on, but were unable to find the back of the net. Stevenson would take advantage, scoring on the other end to win the game, 9-8.
SU returns to action Saturday when they travel to play at Southern Virginia.
