Seven homers not enough for Delaware State
In a game that featured 12 home runs, seven of them coming from Delaware State, there was still not enough fire power for the Hornets to get past LaSalle, falling 20-14 at Soldier Field.
La Salle’s Ethan Springston had a career day, going three-for-six with three home runs, with 7 RBIs and 5 runs scored. DSU’s Ron Farley had four hits, two of them solo home runs. Other Hornets homering in the game were Justin Allen, Jaylen Zielecki, Sam Barber, and Jake Bartlett. Hitters seemed to benefit off of the 35 mph winds blowing out to centerfield in this game.
The Hornets (2-11;2-1 MEAC) return to action with a MEAC doubleheader at Coppin State on Saturday, gametime beginning at 1 p.m.
