Select a designated driver when celebrating St. Patty’s Day

Saint Patrick’s Day Celebrations can be a lot of fun, and typically involve a good bit of drinking. Law enforcement across the country are warning drivers, “Don’t let the end of your rainbow be a jail cell.”
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 40% of all fatal crashes nationwide involve drunk drivers on the weekend of Saint Patrick’s Day.
Law enforcement agencies say it’s imperative to designate a sober driver when celebrating.
Onancock Police Chief Eric Williams says, “Always think twice before you drive intoxicated. A lot of officers have seen children killed. One drink turns into two or three. Just think ahead and plan.”
Driving impaired can not only lead to an arrest or loss of license, but also injuries, disfigurement, or death.
