Sawed-off shot gun found during Salisbury traffic stop

A traffic stop in Salisbury, leads to the discovery of illegal firearm and drugs, along with two arrests.

Salisbury Police say on Saturday around 10:20 PM, Officers stopped a vehicle on Delaware Road, near Mack Avenue. During the stop, Police say a K-9 unit scanned the vehicle, and alerted, indicating that there were controlled dangerous substances in the vehicle. Officers then apparently searched the driver, and found 20 grams of crack cocaine, and several live shotgun rounds. Police say they also found an illegal sawed-off shotgun, and more ammunition in the vehicle, right within reach of the driver and passenger.

Both of the vehicle’s occupants, 39-year-old Bonzie Curtis Jr., and 21-year-old Bonzie Curtis III, both of Salisbury, were arrested. Curtis Jr. was charged with possession of narcotics with intent to distribute, CDS possession, possession of a firearm with drug trafficking crime, and illegal possession of regulated firearm. Curtis III was charged with  illegal possession of regulated firearm.

Both men were later turned over to the custody of Central Booking.
