Queen Anne’s Pulls Off Upset At Parkside

The Queen Anne’s boys basketball team traveled to Salisbury to take on Parkside and came away with a huge 83-64 win over Parkside. The Lions now advance to play  WiHi scheduled for Thursday night.

The Lions would jump out to a quick lead, led by Brendan Cavanagh. The senior would find the touch from distance as well as get into the lane for several quick scores as his team would take a 19-16 lead after the first. Colen Gaynor would do all he could to help the Rams stay in it, as he would get to the rack for several scores, finishing with a team high 24 points.

But the Lions weren’t backing down. They Austin Khial and Kenny Ward would both get hot helping the Lions take a 9 point lead into the locker rooms. They were just getting started though. Cavanagh would take over in the 3rd as Queen Anne’s broke the game open for a 20 point lead. The Rams tried to fight back in the start of the fourth as Juwan Williams would have a huge and 1 finish on a fast break to get his team back within single digits, but the Lions would close the door.
