One injured during morning mishap at Georgetown DMV

A Millsboro man is in stable condition, after he was reportedly pinned between an RV and a wall at the inspection station in Georgetown.
Delaware State Police say around 8:30 AM on Monday, 75-year-old Joseph Trunzo was driving a 2001 Holiday Rambler Recreational Vehicle and came to a stop in inspection lane #7 of the Delaware Division of Motor Vehicle, at the DuPont Boulevard facility.
According to the report, Trunzo got out of the RV from the passenger’s side, and walked over to an employee in lane #6. Police say in that time, the RV started rolling forward, into the inspection lanes, and hit a yellow concrete post with the front left driver’s side. The RV then careen to the right, pinning Trunzo, who was attempting to stop the motor home, between a wall and the RV.
An employee was apparently able to climb into the RV, and reverse it, freeing the elderly man. EMS responded, and Trunzo was quickly air-lifted to Christiana Medical Center where he is currently listed in stable condition.
The DSP Collision Reconstruction Unit says they are continuing their investigation into this incident, but that the early indication is that the engine was still running, and the vehicle may not have been put into park before Trunzo got out.
