New Castle apartment fire ruled arson

The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s office has released that an early morning fire that broke out Saturday and heavily damaged an apartment building has been ruled arson.
Fire marshals say the Brandywine Hundred Fire Company responded to the 1200 block of Terra Hill Drive in the Woods Edge Apartment complex shortly after 1:00 AM after receiving a tip of a building on fire. Fire marshals say firefighters arrived on scene with flames showing from the the vacant apartment building, completely engulfing that side.
State fire investigators say they determined that a person or persons purposefully set a fire inside the building causing heavy fire damage to the structure. Authorities say the damage was estimated at about $250,000.00, and there were no reported injuries to any residents or fire fighters.
Deputy fire marshals say they’re investigating the criminal activity, and are currently searching for those responsible for starting the fire.
State fire marshals ask that any one with information regarding this arson call Crime Stoppers at (800) TIP-3333 or the State Fire Marshal’s New Castle Division at (302) 323-5375. Anonymity will be granted.
