MD Comptroller’s chief of staff tours East Salisbury Elementary

East Salisbury Elementary welcomed Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot’s chief of staff Len Foxwell to the school Monday for a tour.

The tour was a part of the comptroller’s role on the Board of Public Works, which oversees school construction funding.

East Salisbury is slated for a $1 million new roof. That funding has been approved by the state and Foxwell was pleased to see their investment.

Foxwell says, “Wicomico County does such an incredible job of taking care of the facilities it already has. It improves the experience for our kids, it saves tax payer dollars, but frankly it’s a 73- year- old building that could use some help.”

The construction on the roof is slated to start in the summer of 2015.
